Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo is a 40-bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital providing care for patients that are medically complex, stable, and require an extended hospitalization. Patients are regularly admitted from the short-term acute care hospital when they are no longer the most appropriate or cost-effective setting for the patient. We regularly admit patients from hospital Intensive Care Units, Step down Units, or Cardiac Units. The Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo is proud to be Accredited by the Joint Commission, registered by the state of Ohio and Medicare Certified to give our patients the highest quality of care.
Advanced Specialty Hospital of Toledo prides itself on working together as a close knit family to ensure integration of care and support that is personally tailored to every patient. Much of our success in improving patient outcomes is the result of a high nurse-to-patient ratio and the fact that our caregivers get to know our patients and family members over their extended hospital stay. By offering a smaller, personalized environment we can focus our attention on providing patients with the highest level of care, yet having ready access to the vast array of resources of a full-service hospital. This seamless continuum of care is essential for optimum healing and
health.
Our patients benefit from the unique, state of the art LTACH environment which provides for the patient’s acute medical care in a professional, university quality environment which maximizes patient’s recovery options. LTACH care differs from nursing homes and subacute care in many ways. Our patients are medically complex requiring daily physician visits, critical care ACLS trained nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers, discharge planners, dialysis technicians, and physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists.
