Who is Eligible to become a patient at an LTAC Hospital?

We accept patients that are 18 years of age and older with various medical conditions and physical disabilities. Patients are typically referred to Advanced Specialty Hospital by their physician, nurse, case manager, social worker, family member, physicians office, skilled nursing facilities, home health care, or from home, and in most cases coming from a hospital-based intensive care unit.

Upon approval for admission, a clinical evaluation is conducted by a team. Our services are covered in full or in part through Medicare or many health maintenance organizations, insurance companies, or state approved health plans. While there may be charges not covered by your insurance, it is best to check your individual policy for specific benefits. Our team will secure insurance pre-certifications and check hospital level of care benefits prior to admission.
